RockeTHON has partnered with host Jed’s on Campus for an outdoor benefit concert for a local children’s hospital.

Country singer Dylan Schneider headlines the RockeTHON outdoor benefit concert Friday night in the parking lot of Jed’s on Campus, 3534 Dorr St.

Scheduled from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in the parking lot of Jed’s on Campus, 3534 Dorr St., Concert for a Cause will feature country singer Dylan Schneider, “The Voice” contestant Max Boyle and pop-country singer Angel Edwards.

“Unfortunately, with the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to hold the RockeTHON dance marathon fully in person for the last two years,” said Jared Kaplan, a co-leader of the annual event and a junior studying data science. “Jeds is hosting the concert and donating money to RockeTHON through a partnership.

In its 21st edition, the community fundraiser looks different again because of the pandemic, and though it’s not the traditional 13-hour dance marathon, the UToledo student organizers said the importance of the event hasn’t changed.

“I hope as RockeTHON and other charity events continue year after year and we continue to raise money, we will be able to rocket towards miracles for the kids,” Kaplan said.

Students, faculty, family and friends have come together to raise more than $1 million since 2001 at RockeTHON.
