There’s still time to check out free MX4 classes at the Student Recreation Center.

If you’re interested in learning more about the small group and circuit training, free sessions are being offered through Saturday, Sept. 14.

Sign up soon: There are just eight spots in each class.

“The classes are modifiable to all levels of fitness,” said Rachael Decker, associate director of programs and assessment at the Student Recreation Center.

MX4 small group training combines a variety of tools, including a self-powered treadmill, a rower and an upper-body cycle, to help everyone from beginners to elite athletes maximize his or her results.

Diverse, progressive workouts keep sessions fresh and engaging while helping members improve every aspect of their fitness, according to Decker.

Since each session is limited to eight participants, members can count on plenty of one-on-one time with a trainer who will help tailor the program and exercises to their ability levels and goals.

“Ultimately, this blend of equipment, programming and personnel will help participants take advantage of the benefits of a personal training service in a focused group environment,” Decker said.

Registration is available online through the UToledo rec portal, UToledo rec app, or at the front desk.

After the free period, there will be a fee for MX4 Group Training.

Starting Sunday, Sept. 15, students and employees can attend one class for $5, five classes for $20, or unlimited classes for $40 a month. Fees can be paid using a Rocket Card.
