Coming off its big win over No. 18 Arkansas on Saturday, the Toledo Rockets nearly vaulted into the Top 25 themselves this week.

Sunday’s Associated Press media poll gave Toledo 29 points, just five spots out of the Top 25 for an unofficial ranking of No. 30.

Toledo also picked up six points in the Coaches Poll.

Toledo defeated Arkansas, 16-12, in Little Rock Saturday. The Razorbacks, who were No. 18 in both polls going into the game, dropped out of the Top 25.

The last time Toledo was ranked in the Top 25 was Oct. 29, 2012, following a 29-23 victory over then-No. 18 Cincinnati in Matt Campbell’s first season as head coach of the Rockets.

The Toledo Rockets celebrated their 16-12 victory over the No. 18 Arkansas Razorbacks Sept. 12 in War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
