The University of Toledo will commemorate a historic occasion Friday, Sept. 25, with the Inauguration of Dr. Sharon L. Gaber as UT’s 17th president.

To help ensure that students, faculty and staff can celebrate, classes that begin at or after 1 p.m. on Friday have been canceled.

Given the nature of the event and the interest many staff members may have in attending, UT officials are asking supervisors across the University to balance employee attendance while making sure departmental operations are not interrupted.

“We ask that managers across UT exercise flexibility as they approach staffing Friday afternoon,” said Matt Schroeder, chief of staff in the President’s Office.
