The University of Toledo’s Career Services will host Career Con Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Thompson Student Union Auditorium.

Career Con is open to all students so they can learn about different majors and their career paths.

“During the event, students will attend fun and informative career prep sessions and find related part-time and full-time jobs and internships,” Shelly Drouillard, director of Career Services, said. “This is a chance for students to meet their future employers.”

More than 80 employers will have representatives on campus for the event. Students will have the chance to network with Welltower, Cedar Point, Educare Academy Child Development Centers, Imagination Station, Toledo Museum of Art, Urban Radio Broadcasting, and Sky Financial Group. “Students should download the Corq app for fast check in, bring their Rocket Card and resumés to the event., dress in casual attire, and polish their personal elevator pitch,” Drouillard said. “Students also should research the companies and the positions being offered and, most importantly, be confident and act professionally.”

The event also will feature 20-minute sessions on a variety of topics, including how to create a successful resumé, building a better LinkedIn profile, and making the most of networking opportunities.
