The University of Toledo will host the inaugural Rocket Slam presented by Inside the Five Brewing Company in Savage Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. The event will highlight the excitement of the upcoming men’s and women’s basketball seasons.
Rocket Slam will feature fun activities, including the men’s team dunk contest, a skills competition by the women’s team and a three-point contest in which both teams will compete. The Rocket Cheer team also will perform.
The event is free and open to the public. The first 300 UToledo students in attendance will receive free Rocket Slam T-shirts.
Both the men’s and women’s teams will open their regular seasons with the first game of the annual MAC-Sun Belt Challenge on Monday, Nov. 3. The men will host South Alabama at Savage Arena at 7 p.m., while the women will play at Troy. The women also will host an exhibition game vs. Saginaw Valley State on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. and will begin their home regular-season slate against Gonzaga on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m.
