The Catherine S. Eberly Center for Women at The University of Toledo is hosting its second annual Toy Drive benefitting the children of student parents.
Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 1, the campus community can donate new, unopened toys to help UToledo’s student parents celebrate the holidays with their children. Student parents can register for the Holiday Toy Exchange through Wednesday, Nov. 30, on the Eberly Center’s Toy Drive Registration webpage.

Leadership from Student Affairs donate toys to kick off last year’s Catherine S. Eberly Center for Women Holiday Toy Exchange for UToledo student parents.
“We’re thrilled to offer this support to UToledo’s student parents, especially after the overwhelmingly positive response last year,” said Marlena Ainslie, a secretary in the Eberly Center and organizer of the Toy Drive. “Our hope is that this starts a meaningful, lasting tradition on our campus.”
Last year, the Toy Drive was able to give 173 children each three toys through the Holiday Toy Exchange. This year the Eberly Center wants to expand the number of children and UToledo student parents helped connected through the Holiday Toy Exchange.
“We were moved by the number of student parents who expressed sincere gratitude and shared stories of how their families were impacted by the gifts,” Ainslie said. “We were consistently told how refreshing it was for them to feel ‘seen’ by the University.”
New, unopened toys can be dropped off at one of the donation sites on Main or Health Science Campus from Tuesday through Nov. 30.
A list of suggested donations and donation locations are available on the Toy Drive webpage.
