To provide better service to faculty members on Main Campus, the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is relocating from University Hall to the Research and Technology Complex (R1 Building) this week.

During the move, the office will remain open, and a grant coordinator will be available to take calls and assist faculty, staff and students with grant proposals and other matters.

research web pageGrowing research and scholarly activity at UT has been identified by President Sharon L. Gaber as a primary area of focus for the University.

With that objective in mind, Dr. Frank Calzonetti, vice president of research, said that the move is to provide deeper staff support by centralizing activities so that customer service can be improved and grants are processed and budgets set up quickly.

The R1 Building, located at the corner of Westwood Avenue and Dorr Street, has convenient parking, he added.

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs still will maintain an office in University Hall to accept grant proposals and other materials.

In addition, Michelle Shy, institutional review board coordinator on Main Campus, will remain in University Hall to provide service to faculty and students.
