The City of Toledo Department of Public Utilities issued a water boil advisory Wednesday that impacts The University of Toledo Health Science Campus.

Individuals should not drink from taps or water fountains on Health Science Campus and should not consume ice from icemakers until further notice.

Tap water may be used for washing hands.

UTMC is maintaining normal operations with no disruption to patient care.

The city called the boil advisory a precaution to protect public health.

The advisory said, “Toledo Water Distribution does not have evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated. However, because of a repair or disruption, there is a possibility of contamination. The only way to be certain that water quality has been maintained is by testing your water, which is underway.”

Go to the city’s website to read the full advisory, including steps to take before using tap water to cook, drink, wash dishes, brush teeth or make formula.
