Stadium Drive and the east sidewalk along the road are scheduled to close Wednesday, Dec. 2.
The closures will be necessary so a new chilled water line can be put in for the Student Recreation Center, Health Education Building and Larimer Center.
“Contractors will work from south to north only closing the south half in the first week so traffic can turn around and use lots 10 and 5,” Michael Green, director of energy management, said. “They will work on the north half the second week while opening traffic up to drive north through to lot 10 and around.
“Contractors will work near the lot 5 entrance while trying to keep it open for the final connection, but they may have to close the entrance. We’ll try to direct traffic around if possible before closing.”
Weather permitting, the project is slated to be completed Wednesday, Dec. 23.
The curbs will be replaced, repairs to the road will be made, and the sidewalks will be reconstructed during the third week of the project, Green said. There may be intermittent closures slowed traffic.
