{"id":13435,"date":"2011-09-13T04:50:07","date_gmt":"2011-09-13T09:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=13435"},"modified":"2011-09-12T15:30:43","modified_gmt":"2011-09-12T20:30:43","slug":"celebrate-our-river-week-events-scheduled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/09_13_2011\/celebrate-our-river-week-events-scheduled","title":{"rendered":"Celebrate Our River Week events scheduled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s that time again in the year to stop and recognize the ongoing activities associated with improvements to the Ottawa River and understand the importance of this ecosystem on UT\u2019s Main Campus.<\/p>\n<p>The President\u2019s Commission on the River has organized four events for this year\u2019s Celebrate Our River Week. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe work of the President\u2019s Commission on the River and our partners to improve the beauty, environment, access, enjoyment and educational opportunities of the Ottawa River on Main Campus remains an important effort at the University,\u201d said Dr. Patrick Lawrence, UT professor and chair of the Department of Geography and Planning, and chair of the commission.<\/p>\n<p>Events scheduled are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Wednesday, Sept. 14 \u2014 Improvements will be made to the Mary Sue Cave Rain Garden next to the International House from 1 to 3 p.m. and to the Carolyn Edwards Memorial Rain Garden north of parking area 10 from 3 to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Thursday and Friday, Sept. 15 and 16 \u2014 Information displays on a proposed river restoration available for viewing in Carlson Library.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/clean-your-streams-logo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/clean-your-streams-logo.jpg\" alt=\"clean-your-streams-logo\" title=\"clean-your-streams-logo\" width=\"468\" height=\"178\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-13436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/clean-your-streams-logo.jpg 468w, https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/clean-your-streams-logo-300x114.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/a>\u2022 Saturday, Sept. 17 \u2014 Clean Your Streams. Take a couple hours to help clean the banks of the Ottawa River on Main Campus.
