{"id":19092,"date":"2012-08-15T04:58:25","date_gmt":"2012-08-15T09:58:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=19092"},"modified":"2012-08-14T13:33:13","modified_gmt":"2012-08-14T18:33:13","slug":"volleyball-to-hold-blue-gold-match-aug-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/08_15_2012\/volleyball-to-hold-blue-gold-match-aug-17","title":{"rendered":"Volleyball to hold Blue-Gold Match Aug. 17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Toledo women\u2019s volleyball program will hold its third-annual Blue-Gold Match Friday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. in Savage Arena. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/thumb-rocket-color-logo1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/thumb-rocket-color-logo1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"thumb-rocket-color-logo\" width=\"216\" height=\"125\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-18107\" \/><\/a>Admission is free for the event, and 100 T-shirts will be given to the first 100 fans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is going to be a good opportunity for our team to play in a match-like setting,\u201d Toledo Head Coach Greg Smith said. \u201cWe\u2019ve had a good preseason and have had a chance to grow as a team and continue the progress we made last spring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Rockets are returning nine letterwinners from last year\u2019s squad, including junior middle blocker Dakota Harkins, who ranked seventh in the Mid-American Conference with a team-best .321 attack percentage.<\/p>\n<p>UT will open its 2012 campaign when it travels to Columbus to face Houston, Ohio State and Oregon as part of the Buckeyes\u2019 Sports Imports Classic Friday and Saturday, Aug. 24 and 25. <\/p>\n<p>Toledo\u2019s first home action will take place with the Rocket Classic when it hosts Florida Gulf Coast, Illinois State and Memphis Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7 and 8.<\/p>\n<p>Follow all the Rocket action <a href=\"http:\/\/utrockets.com\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>See you at the Blue-Gold Match Friday, Aug. 17!
