The Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women will hold a reception with artist Sarah Miller Thursday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. <\/p>\n

This painting is part of Sarah Miller’s exhibition titled “Meditations,\u201d which is on display through November in the Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women.<\/p><\/div>Her works are featured in the exhibit titled \u201cMeditations,\u201d which is on display through Friday, Nov. 30, in the center, located in Tucker Hall Room 0168.<\/P><\/p>\n

\u201cThese abstract seascapes are reflections on the mind, what we remember and recognize in an instant,\u201d Miller said. \u201cThe horizontal line remains constant while the biomorphic lines continue to morph like the sea of life. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy paintings reveal tranquility, which has become lost in our technology-driven society.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miller\u2019s multimedia works are represented in private collections in the United States and Asia, as well as in public collections, including the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Read more about the Toledo native here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Each semester, the Center for Women displays work by a local artist. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Eberly Center for Women is excited to be able to host up-and-coming artists,\u201d said Dr. Shanda Gore, UT associate vice president for equity, diversity and community engagement. \u201cIt fulfills our mission to empower women in all fields, including art, and supports their creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n

All works in the exhibit are available for purchase; there is a price list available at the front desk of the Center for Women. <\/p>\n

The free, public reception will include light refreshments. <\/p>\n
