Approximately 70 students from 22 area high schools will participate in the Fifth Annual Junior Achievement of Northwestern Ohio\u2019s Business Challenge competition Friday, Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The University of Toledo. <\/p>\n
The event is an opportunity for northwest Ohio students to come together to test their leadership skills and business savvy and demonstrate the competitive nature of the free enterprise system. <\/p>\n
The one-day hands-on business strategy tournament is geared toward high school students where scholarship opportunities exist. <\/p>\n
Teams or \u201ccompanies\u201d of students compete against each other to market and manufacture a fictional product. Junior Achievement of northwest Ohio will award more than $32,000 in college scholarships to the top performing teams. <\/p>\n
UT faculty and staff will serve as “business consultants” to the students, offering guidance, business principals and motivation. <\/p>\n
The University of Toledo is the sponsor and host of the event, which will be held in the College of Business and Innovation\u2019s Savage & Associates Complex for Business Learning and Engagement.<\/p>\n
