Students are trained in breathing, technique, rhythm and music theory, as well as provided master class coaching. A concert performed by the students will conclude the workshop on Saturday. Designed for beginners to Orff-Schulwerk, experienced teachers who hold Orff levels and want a different perspective also are welcome.<br \/>\n<strong>To register:<\/strong> Enroll and register as you would for any other class, or if you are not a UT student, you can register as a guest student to take this workshop. Contact the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utoledo.edu\/admission\/\">UT Office of Undergraduate Admission<\/a> or the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utoledo.edu\/graduate\/\">College of Graduate Studies<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0<strong>Summer Jazz Institute, June 16-22<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Faculty:<\/strong> Gunnar Mossblad, UT director of jazz studies and saxophonist; Vic Juris, guitarist; Tad Weed, UT assistant professor of music and jazz pianist; Norm Damschroder, UT senior lecturer of music and bass player; Olman Piedra, UT director of percussion studies and percussionist<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 12 and older<br \/>\n<strong>Tracks:<\/strong> Vocal, Instrumental, Teacher-Training, Jazz Appreciation<br \/>\n<strong>Description:<\/strong> The UT Summer Jazz Institute is the place where all levels of jazz students can discover and achieve their potential through the study of jazz in one of four programs: instrumental jazz, vocal jazz, teacher training and jazz appreciation.<br \/>\n<strong>To register and for more information:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utoledo.edu\/cvpa\/music\/ensembles\/summer_jazz.html\">SummerJazz.utoledo.edu<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Cost:<\/strong> $500 total ($450 tuition plus $50 application fee). If taken for college credit, the workshop tuition will be waived and UT tuition and fees will apply.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0<strong>Art Song Festival and Workshops, June 26-30<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Faculty:<\/strong> Dr. Denise Ritter Bernardini, UT assistant professor of music and soprano; voice \u2014 Nancy Crego, Alexander technique; Timothy Cheek, diction; Karen Lykes, mezzo-soprano; Dr. Sam Savage, tenor; Andrew Walker Schultze, bass-baritone; Michael Sylvester, tenor; piano \u2014 Dr. Michael Boyd, UT professor of music; Clara Cheng, Nigel Foster<br \/>\n<strong>Ages: <\/strong>High school and older<br \/>\n<strong>Tracks:<\/strong> Artist, High School Student<br \/>\n<strong>Description:<\/strong> The Art Song Festival and Workshop is dedicated to promoting recital performances as well as to training singers and collaborative pianists in the fine art of recital planning and performance. This festival is packed with master classes, voice lessons, coaching sessions and recital performances, as well as classes geared for the student and emerging professional singer and pianist.<br \/>\n<strong>To register and for more information:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utoledo.edu\/cvpa\/music\/artsong\/\">ArtSongFestival.com <\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Cost:<\/strong> Adult participant: $680 total ($600 tuition plus $80 application fee, high school participant: $230 ($150 tuition plus $80 application fee)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0<strong>Opera Role Study: Cos\u00ec Fan Tutte, July 8-26<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Faculty:<\/strong> Dr. Denise Ritter Bernardini, UT assistant professor of music and soprano; Don Bernardini, tenor, stage direction; Robert Mirakian, conductor; Nathanael Leonard, accompanist<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> Adult and college<br \/>\n<strong>Tracks:<\/strong> Performance<br \/>\n<strong>Description:<\/strong> This intensive, nearly monthlong daily workshop will culminate in the performance of Mozart&#8217;s beloved comic opera, \u201cCos\u00ec Fan Tutte.\u201d Due to the performance nature of this workshop, openings are limited.
