Rocket Wellness, a health and wellness enhancement program for the UT community, and the Center for Successful Aging, a program for older adults and their families, also are housed in the center and will share several services. <\/p>\n<p>The center is located in Health and Human Services Building Room 1100 on Main Campus. <\/p>\n<p>President Lloyd A. Jacobs and Dr. Jeffrey Gold, chancellor and executive vice president for biosciences and health affairs, and dean of the College of Medicine and Life Sciences, lauded the center\u2019s teamwork approach in creating support services that extend beyond medical care to encompass recovery components such as socialization, exercise, spirituality and community services.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/open-house.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/open-house.jpg\" alt=\"open house\" width=\"561\" height=\"615\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-27062\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/open-house.jpg 561w, https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/open-house-273x300.jpg 273w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 561px) 100vw, 561px\" \/><\/a>Dr. Timothy R. Jordan, professor in the College of Health Sciences and co-director of the center, commented, \u201cOne unique aspect of the center\u2019s design is its emphasis on interdisciplinary teaching, learning, research and community service conducted by professors and students within the College of Health Sciences. Because these programs and services are led by faculty and students as part of academic course work, we can offer them free of charge to the community.\u201d <\/P><\/p>\n<p><P>Services include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Walking\/physical activity programs;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Support groups;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Nutrition counseling;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Book club for survivors;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Recreation therapy; and<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Mammography and clinical services support.<\/p>\n<p>Services planned in the future include social work, physical and occupational therapy, legal services, tobacco cessation, health and wellness counseling, education and social events.<\/p>\n<p>The following organizations are collaborating partners with the center: Susan G.
