{"id":28651,"date":"2014-02-25T04:09:07","date_gmt":"2014-02-25T09:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=28651"},"modified":"2014-02-24T16:39:15","modified_gmt":"2014-02-24T21:39:15","slug":"register-for-march-19-graduate-assistantship-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/02_25_2014\/register-for-march-19-graduate-assistantship-fair","title":{"rendered":"Register for March 19 Graduate Assistantship Fair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Graduate students interested in gaining valuable work experience as assistants in various Division of Student Affairs offices and departments during the 2014-15 academic year are encouraged to register for the Graduate Assistantship Fair that will be held Wednesday, March 19, in the 2500 wing of the Student Union.<\/p>\n<p>Pre-registration is required for graduate students before job interviews can be scheduled. Online registration can be completed at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utoledo.edu\/studentaffairs\/ga\/gafair.html\">utoledo.edu\/studentaffairs\/ga\/gafair.html<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Once the submitted information undergoes review by department representatives, the students will be notified of their interview schedule prior to March 19. Walk-in interviews will not be conducted the day of the fair. <\/p>\n<p>A graduate assistant (GA) is a graduate student holding regular admission to a degree program while maintaining a 3.0 GPA and working as a teaching assistant, research assistant, administrative assistant or intern for an academic or administrative department within the University. <\/p>\n<p>Graduate assistants work a specified number of hours (typically 20) per week, maintain a minimum course load, and fulfill specific job requirements as set forth in their contract and by their supervisor.
