UT Health\u2019s Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center is now offering massage therapy to patients during their infusion treatments. <\/p>\n

Massage therapist Linda James of the Victory Center gave a hand massage to a UT Health patient at the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center.<\/p><\/div>This new service is provided through UT Health\u2019s partnership with the Victory Center, a privately funded organization that provides free services to cancer patients. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re pleased to offer this service and collaborate with the Victory Center,\u201d said Jan Tipton, manager of the Infusion Center at the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center. <\/p>\n

Patients at the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center can receive hand, foot and shoulder massages, accompanied by the use of aromatherapy oils. This service is provided at the Infusion Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatients love the massages,\u201d Tipton said. \u201cThey tell me that it improves their circulation and helps them relax during their treatments.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tipton noted that patients are starting to schedule their treatments on massage days. Wednesday is another popular day for patients to schedule their treatments because that is when Porshia, the therapy dog, visits the infusion center, Tipton added. <\/p>\n
