Most people got some sleep. But if not, we were out of luck because once we landed we had a full day planned ahead of us.

The flight was about seven hours, so when we touched down in London, it was already 10:30 a.m. We boarded our charter bus and went to the other side of the airport to pick up the other flight of people that would join our party.

After everyone finished visiting and getting on the bus, we made our way to the hotel. We went through the busier part of the city, which we learned from Jay-Ann [Bravo-Harriott] and Janice [Monakana] was called Central London.

This part of the city was busy with a ton of people, cars, buses and even a Korean Festival was going on. The buildings are really pretty and a lot of them look really old.

At the hotel [in Central London], we had a lunch option of fish and chips or burger and chips. I went with the fish and it was awesome! Yum yum!

Following lunch, we had a little break and then had a team walk through to review our plays before we have our game tomorrow. It was a good refresher after such a long flight.

Then we went to dinner at Nando’s, which Jay-Ann and Janice said was like their version of Mexican-style food. But to us, it wouldn’t be the same thing that we would call Mexican food in the U.S. It was really tasty though.

We had some free time after dinner, so a lot of the players walked around the city a bit. We crossed over the Thames River and the Millennium Bridge. We took a lot pictures because it was so beautiful! Around the river, there were a lot of cool restaurants and music going on.

Overall it was a fun and interesting day despite how tired we all were.

Next up the Rockets will take a tour of Buckingham Palace, followed by a walk through the Embankment area, before wrapping up the day with their first of two games against Barking Abbey/Reading Rockets at the City Sport Gym.

For all the latest information, photos and videos from the trip, click here.

Players are chronicling the the women’s basketball team’s trip to Europe.
