{"id":3622,"date":"2009-10-13T05:40:20","date_gmt":"2009-10-13T10:40:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=3622"},"modified":"2009-10-13T07:55:18","modified_gmt":"2009-10-13T12:55:18","slug":"accreditation-teams-named","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/10_13_2009\/accreditation-teams-named","title":{"rendered":"Accreditation teams named"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Toledo is finalizing the membership of the five criterion teams that will provide leadership as UT begins a required two-year self-study in preparation for its 2012 accreditation visit from the North Central Association.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Dr. John Taylor, vice president at the North Central Association and a site visitor, will be on campus Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 14 and 15, to meet with criterion team members and University leadership, and provide guidance for the hard work ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Criterion teams will work to gather information and resources over the next two years on the topics of:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Mission and integrity;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Preparing for the future;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Student learning and effective teaching;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Acquisition, discovery and application of knowledge; and<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Engagement and service.<\/p>\n<p>Team membership can be viewed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utoledo.edu\/offices\/communications\/pdfs\/Final_Criterion_Team_Members_1.pdf\">here<\/a>, and student team members still are being identified for inclusion on the committees.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, President Lloyd Jacobs will deliver a video message regarding the importance of UT\u2019s self-study and 2012 accreditation visit on the myUT site Tuesday, Oct. 13.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Thomas Sharkey, associate professor of marketing and international business, and Dr. Dorothea Sawicki, professor of medical microbiology and immunology, are co-chairs of the accreditation steering committee, which will guide and coordinate the University\u2019s preparation.<\/p>\n<p>Accreditation occurs about once a decade and serves as an external validation of the strength and excellence of UT\u2019s academic programs, faculty and staff, community engagement, financial strength and numerous other areas of focus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. John Taylor, vice president at the North Central Association and a site visitor, will be on campus Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 14 and 15.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1,7],"tags":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3622"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/5"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3622"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3622\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3622"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3622"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3622"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
