There, they are trapped together for eternity and begin to realize the binding force keeping them in the room is one from within. <\/p>\n<p>During the course of the play, the characters reflect on their past and share all of the unforgivable things they have done throughout their lives. The classic theme, \u201cHell is other people,\u201d is presented as the story unfolds.<\/p>\n<p>Medina said he is excited to explore the play\u2019s theme of life after death and intrigued by Sartre\u2019s philosophy. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody wonders about death and the meaning of life. I was also interested in Sartre\u2019s philosophy that human beings supply meaning to the big questions of life and death out of their own experience of each,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The set will be minimalist, according to Medina. \u201cEspecially with this kind of play, I prefer to rely on movement, on the actors and their characters, to captivate the audience and hold their interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While \u201cNo Exit\u201d is Medina\u2019s directorial debut, he assisted directing the UT productions of \u201cCabaret\u201d and \u201cThe Adding Machine.\u201d \u201cThe Adding Machine\u201d was invited to be performed at the 2015 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Region 2. He also was the assistant stage manager for UT\u2019s production of \u201cOrpheus.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Professionally, Medina served as the stage manager for the Glacity Theatre Collective\u2019s production of \u201cHouse of Vinyl.\u201d\u2028<\/p>\n<p>On stage, Medina has played roles in various UT plays, including \u201cTwelfth Night,\u201d \u201cMiss Julie,\u201d \u201cCabaret,\u201d \u201cOut to Lunch,\u201d \u201cGhost Light,\u201d \u201cThree Sisters,\u201d \u201cMetamorphoses\u201d and \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream.\u201d His professional acting credits include a role in Glacity Theatre Collective\u2019s \u201cNightmares Come in Threes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cast for \u201cNo Exit\u201d features Davion T. Brown, a senior majoring in theatre and communication, as Garcin; Olivia M. Pierce, a junior majoring in theatre and minoring in art, as Inez; Christina M. Pinciotti, a junior majoring in theatre and minoring in communication, as Estelle; and Reshi Phillips, a sophomore majoring in theatre and film, as the valet.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $8 for students and children; $10 for seniors 60 and older, for military members, and for UT faculty, staff and alumni; and $15 for the general public.
