{"id":38884,"date":"2016-03-28T03:45:56","date_gmt":"2016-03-28T07:45:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=38884"},"modified":"2016-03-27T19:39:54","modified_gmt":"2016-03-27T23:39:54","slug":"ut-students-to-make-1000-pizzas-to-fight-hunger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/03_28_2016\/ut-students-to-make-1000-pizzas-to-fight-hunger","title":{"rendered":"UT students to make 1,000 pizzas to fight hunger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Toledo Catholic Student Association will make more than 1,000 pizzas in less than 20 minutes to donate to Toledo area shelters, food banks and soup kitchens.<\/p>\n<p>Campus HEAT, which stands for Hunger Elimination Amongst Toledoans, will take place Tuesday, March 29, at 6 p.m. in the Student Union Auditorium.<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_38886\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/?attachment_id=38886\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-38886\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-38886\" src=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/web-pizza.jpg\" alt=\"Students assembled pizzas last year to help feed the homeless.\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" class=\"size-full wp-image-38886\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/web-pizza.jpg 540w, https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/web-pizza-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-38886\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Students assembled pizzas last year to help feed the homeless.<\/p><\/div>Nearly 300 students are expected to form pizza assembly lines for the annual tradition, which requires 250 pounds of pizza sauce and 500 pounds of shredded mozzarella cheese.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe plan to fill up a lot of freezer space for charities,\u201d said UT sophomore Johnathan Fife, co-chair of the committee organizing Campus HEAT. \u201cLast year, we made 1,000 pizzas in 13 minutes and 30 seconds.
