This is the third time the UT men have won the award and the first time since 2010-11.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/08_26_2016\/mid-american-conference-honors-ut-mens-sports-for-highest-gpa-rank-2\/web-mens-athletic-award-image\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-40943\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/web-mens-athletic-award-image.jpg\" alt=\"web mens athletic award image\" width=\"540\" height=\"361\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-40943\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/web-mens-athletic-award-image.jpg 540w, https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/web-mens-athletic-award-image-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a>The MAC Institutional Achievement Award, which honors the school with the best overall GPA rank for all men\u2019s and women\u2019s sports, will be announced Aug. 30.<\/p>\n<p>The conference faculty athletics representatives worked with the MAC athletic academic advisors to compute an award that best represents the academic achievement of student-athletes in a competitive setting.\u00a0Using the same ranking method as the longtime Reese and Jacoby trophies (traditionally awarded to the best overall male and female athletic programs in the MAC), the Faculty Athletics Representative Academic Achievement Awards are given to those institutions&#8217; male and female programs with the highest overall GPA rank points within the conference. Only MAC-sponsored sports are used.<\/p>\n<p>Toledo had the highest GPA rank average as the Rocket men carried the highest league GPA in two MAC-sponsored sports \u2014 baseball and men\u2019s basketball \u2014 while also posting the second-highest GPA in men\u2019s golf and the third-best mark in men\u2019s cross country and football during the 2015-16 academic season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to extend our congratulations to all our men\u2019s sports for earning the Faculty Athletics Representative Academic Achievement Award,\u201d Vice President and Athletic Director Mike O\u2019Brien said. \u201cWe take great pride in the academic success of our student-athletes.
