{"id":41968,"date":"2016-10-27T03:57:10","date_gmt":"2016-10-27T07:57:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=41968"},"modified":"2016-10-25T14:25:13","modified_gmt":"2016-10-25T18:25:13","slug":"glacity-theatre-collective-to-present-vaguely-terrifying","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/10_27_2016\/glacity-theatre-collective-to-present-vaguely-terrifying","title":{"rendered":"Glacity Theatre Collective to present &#8216;Vaguely Terrifying&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For its fourth annual Halloween show, the Glacity Theatre Collective will bring Toledo some of the greatest dark tales ever told \u2014 with a twist \u2014\u00a0in \u201cVaguely Terrifying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Creator and director Tori Zajac takes iconic stories from Edgar Allan Poe, Gertrude Atherton, the Brothers Grimm and H.P. Lovecraft and brings them to life on stage. Using a classic storyteller format paired with some not-so-classic devised movement, these stories rise from the grave, or page, in all their spine-tingling glory.<br \/>\n<div id=\"attachment_42036\" style=\"width: 514px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/?attachment_id=42036\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-42036\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42036\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/vaguely-terrifying-PaulCausman-by-Tori-Zajac.jpg\" alt=\"Paul Causman rehearsed his role as the storyteller in the Glacity Theatre Collective\u2019s \u201cVaguely Terrifying.\u201d\" width=\"504\" height=\"345\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42036\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/vaguely-terrifying-PaulCausman-by-Tori-Zajac.jpg 504w, https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/vaguely-terrifying-PaulCausman-by-Tori-Zajac-300x205.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-42036\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Paul Causman rehearsed his role as the storyteller in the Glacity Theatre Collective\u2019s \u201cVaguely Terrifying.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\u201cAppropriate for all ages, this show is a great opportunity to experience the true spirit of Halloween,\u201d Holly Monsos, associate dean of the College of Arts and Letters, professor of theatre, and executive director of the Glacity Theatre Collective, said. <\/p>\n<p>The cast of \u201cVaguely Terrifying\u201d features storyteller Paul Causman and ensemble members Kitty Hawk, Lindsey Miller, Andres Medina and Olivia Pierce. Costumes are designed by Lynette Bates, and sound is by Stephen Mariasy. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cVaguely Terrifying\u201d will be presented Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28 and 29, at 8 p.m. in the Valentine Theatre\u2019s Studio A Theatre, 410 Adams St. The doors will open one half hour prior to curtain.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $15 at the door or in advance online at <a href=\"http:\/\/glacity.tix.org\">glacity.tix.org<\/a>.
