{"id":43014,"date":"2017-01-18T03:35:06","date_gmt":"2017-01-18T07:35:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=43014"},"modified":"2017-01-17T17:50:56","modified_gmt":"2017-01-17T21:50:56","slug":"utc3-pledges-reach-all-time-high","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/01_18_2017\/utc3-pledges-reach-all-time-high","title":{"rendered":"UTC3 pledges total more than $133,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to 680 University faculty, staff and retirees, the 2016 UT Community Charitable Campaign (UTC3) exceeded its goal by raising $133,798, with additional pledges from retirees still forthcoming.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This amount set an all-time University record for recent years, with more than 13 percent of faculty and staff participating.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/?attachment_id=43064\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-43064\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/UTC3-NewsBreak_Final.jpg\" alt=\"utc3-newsbreak_final\" width=\"540\" height=\"407\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-43064\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/UTC3-NewsBreak_Final.jpg 540w, https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/UTC3-NewsBreak_Final-300x226.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a>Every UTC3 donor has been emailed an invitation to attend a celebratory breakfast with President Sharon L. Gaber Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in Savage Arena\u2019s Grogan Room on Main Campus. Complimentary UT T-shirts will be given to each donor.<\/p>\n<p>Every faculty and staff member who made a UTC3 pledge late last year should RSVP to the emailed invitation no later than Monday, Jan. 23. Those who made a contribution but cannot attend the Jan. 31 breakfast should still RSVP so their free T-shirt can be sent to them via inter-office mail. For questions, contact <a href=\"mailto:vicki.riddick@utoledo.edu\"> vicki.riddick@utoledo.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe truly want to thank every faculty member, employee and retiree who made a UTC3 pledge,\u201d Gaber said. \u201cOur collective UT contribution will significantly impact thousands of lives throughout our community this year.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Formerly referred to as the United Way Campaign, UTC3 contributions assist nearly 220 charitable organizations throughout the region to help those in need. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat we exceeded our goal is living proof that UT faculty, staff and retirees embody our mission,\u201d added Dr. Kaye M. Patten, senior vice president for student affairs and the 2016 UTC3 chairperson. \u201cBy contributing at whatever level they could afford, they\u2019ve made a personal commitment to improve life for others.
