The UT chapter of Zeta Phi Eta, a national professional communication of arts and sciences fraternity, will host a communication alumni panel Thursday, Feb. 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Ottawa House East Multipurpose Room. <\/p>\n

The panel will feature several Zeta Phi Eta alumni and UT communication graduates.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cThe purpose of the professional event is to help communication majors understand what is expected from them once they graduate,\u201d said Areeba Shah, professional development co-chair of Zeta Phi Eta at the University. \u201cUT alumni will provide advice on what students should focus on and share their personal stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event will focus on how the alumni built themselves professionally throughout college and how that prepared them for the workplace.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of apprehension about getting jobs after we graduate,\u201d said Savannah Joslin, president of the UT chapter of Zeta Phi Eta. \u201cWe thought it\u2019d be good to hear from fellow communication grads who have a little bit of experience in that area.\u201d <\/p>\n

Students will have a chance to ask the panel questions after the event. <\/p>\n

The free, public event is open to all UT students, but geared toward students who are studying or looking to pursue a career in the communication field. <\/p>\n
