They are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Dr. Karen Bjorkman<\/strong>, professor and interim chair of physics and astronomy. The section stated, \u201cKaren S. Bjorkman is an observational astronomer who does research in the area of circumstellar disks, as well as teaching astronomy and astrophysics classes. She is actively involved in efforts to provide mentoring for young women in science and to increase the representation of women in science.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4496\" style=\"width: 75px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/webkaderavekjoan22.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4496\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4496\" title=\"webkaderavekjoan22\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/webkaderavekjoan22.jpg\" alt=\"Kaderavek\" width=\"65\" height=\"65\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4496\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kaderavek<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Dr. Vijay Goel<\/strong>, endowed chair and McMaster-Gardner professor of orthopedic bioengineering in the College of Engineering and the College of Medicine, and co-director of the Engineering Center for Orthopedic Research Excellence. \u201cVijay K. Goel has been instrumental in the development, implementation and assessment of the Department of Bioengineering\u2019s subtract in orthopedic biomechanics, including teaching and research labs,\u201d the article stated. \u201cHe also incorporates findings of basic and applied research in orthopedics into his classroom teaching.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4497\" style=\"width: 75px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/webviola21.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4497\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4497\" title=\"webviola21\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/webviola21.jpg\" alt=\"Viola\" width=\"65\" height=\"65\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4497\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Viola<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Dr. Joan Kaderavek<\/strong>, professor of early childhood, physical and special education. \u201cJoan N.
