Matt Perry, associate director for residence life, has accepted an additional responsibility \u2014 LGBTQ liaison to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.<\/p>\n

He will start his expanded role Monday, May 8. <\/p>\n

Perry<\/p><\/div>\u201cMatt will help provide strategic direction, including advising on inclusion issues relevant to the University’s LGBTQ community,\u201d said Dr. Willie McKether, vice president for diversity and inclusion, and vice provost.\u00a0\u201cHe also will represent the office at the University\u2019s LGBTQ Advisory Board meetings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Having a liaison will facilitate implementing part of the Diversity Strategic Plan, McKether added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis addition to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will help the University be even more responsive to the needs of the LGBTQ community, which is a critically important aspect of inclusiveness in our institution,\u201d McKether said.<\/p>\n
