{"id":47226,"date":"2017-11-09T03:03:19","date_gmt":"2017-11-09T07:03:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=47226"},"modified":"2019-02-06T10:03:43","modified_gmt":"2019-02-06T14:03:43","slug":"ut-to-hold-all-steinway-piano-gala-nov-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/11_09_2017\/ut-to-hold-all-steinway-piano-gala-nov-12","title":{"rendered":"UT to hold All-Steinway Piano Gala Nov. 12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Toledo Department of Music will present a piano concert featuring performances of masterpieces written for two, four and eight hands Sunday, Nov. 12, at 3 p.m. in the Center for Performing Arts Recital Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Pianists will include guests, faculty, alumni and piano students of the University. <\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_47304\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/11_09_2017\/ut-to-hold-all-steinway-piano-gala-nov-12\/piano-boyd-and-leonard\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-47304\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47304\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/piano-Boyd-and-Leonard.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"417\" class=\"size-full wp-image-47304\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/piano-Boyd-and-Leonard.jpg 540w, https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/piano-Boyd-and-Leonard-300x232.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-47304\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr. Michael Boyd, UT professor of music and Steinway artist, performed with the assistance of Nathanael Leonard, UT music alumnus.<\/p><\/div>Performances will feature Dukas&#8217; \u201cThe Sorcerer&#8217;s Apprentice,\u201d Bolcom&#8217;s \u201cThe Serpent&#8217;s Kiss,\u201d selections from Tchaikovsky&#8217;s \u201cThe Nutcracker,\u201d and the music of Mozart, Piazzolla, Ellington and Sousa.<\/p>\n<p>The All-Steinway Piano Gala is the second concert in this year\u2019s Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series. <\/p>\n<p>All seats are $20 each.
