{"id":48167,"date":"2018-01-22T19:14:21","date_gmt":"2018-01-22T23:14:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=48167"},"modified":"2018-01-23T12:35:06","modified_gmt":"2018-01-23T16:35:06","slug":"accreditation-reinstated-for-physician-assistant-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/01_22_2018\/accreditation-reinstated-for-physician-assistant-program","title":{"rendered":"Accreditation reinstated for Physician Assistant Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Toledo successfully appealed the withdrawal of accreditation from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) for the Physician Assistant Studies Program.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter to UT President Sharon L. Gaber sent Jan. 22, ARC-PA notified the University it reconsidered its Oct. 6 decision to withdraw accreditation and \u201cinstead has decided to keep the program on accreditation-probation\u201d status.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ARC-PA decided to keep the program on probation in order to protect the interests of current students and because the ARC-PA determined the program appears to have sufficient resources in place to resolve the citations in a timely manner,\u201d the letter states.<\/p>\n<p>During the probation period, the University will continue efforts to enhance the quality of the PA program.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter to campus, Gaber wrote, \u201cThis is good news, particularly for our students, whose success is our top priority.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201cThe accreditation process has always served as an opportunity for us to improve on our processes and programs.
