{"id":50299,"date":"2018-06-27T03:09:03","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T07:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=50299"},"modified":"2018-06-25T15:51:30","modified_gmt":"2018-06-25T19:51:30","slug":"ut-recreational-services-honored-by-campus-rec-magazine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/06_27_2018\/ut-recreational-services-honored-by-campus-rec-magazine","title":{"rendered":"UT Recreational Services honored by Campus Rec Magazine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Due to numerous recommendations by leading professionals in the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association, the UT Student Recreation Center received the honor of being featured in this month\u2019s issue of Campus Rec Magazine as its \u201cRec of the Month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Campus Rec Magazine serves as the premier business resource for college and university recreation centers and seeks to educate and empower leaders within these facilities while also providing them with the best possible services and products. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/?attachment_id=50349\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-50349\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Rec-of-the-Month-screen-shot.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"671\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-50349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Rec-of-the-Month-screen-shot.png 540w, https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Rec-of-the-Month-screen-shot-241x300.png 241w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a>Established in 1965, UT Recreational Services\u2019mission is to enhance the human condition with a focus on health and well-being by providing programs and services that enrich the learning of students and the campus community. <\/p>\n<p>UT Recreational Services offers four different facilities: the Student Recreation Center, Carter Field and the Health Education Building on Main Campus, and the Morse Fitness Center on Health Science Campus. <\/p>\n<p>The numerous features of these facilities are highlighted in the magazine; for example, the Student Recreation Center\u2019s weight and cardio equipment, five basketball courts, indoor track, auxiliary gym, aquatic center with three pools and climbing wall are mentioned.  <\/p>\n<p>Other features acknowledged by the magazine are the fitness studio at the Morse Fitness Center, four basketball courts and five-lane therapy pool in the Health Education Building, and the nine acres of land that Carter Field provides for intramural sports, sports clubs, varsity football practice and other campus events. <\/p>\n<p>UT Recreational Services also offers programs for guests or members.
