{"id":50416,"date":"2018-08-10T03:57:15","date_gmt":"2018-08-10T07:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=50416"},"modified":"2018-08-09T19:57:20","modified_gmt":"2018-08-09T23:57:20","slug":"trio-of-rockets-named-to-scholar-all-america-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/08_10_2018\/trio-of-rockets-named-to-scholar-all-america-team","title":{"rendered":"Trio of Rockets named to Scholar All-America Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Toledo women&#8217;s swimming and diving student-athletes\u00a0Izzy Jones,\u00a0Maureen O&#8217;Sullivan\u00a0and\u00a0Alida Ramden\u00a0have been named to the College Swimming &#038; Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team.<\/p>\n<p>The award recognizes students who have achieved a GPA of 3.50 or higher and competed at their respective National Collegiate Athletic Association, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, and National Junior Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/06_03_2010\/student-athletes-post-school-record-3165-gpa-last-semester\/smallerrocket-spot-color-logo-copy-2\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6566\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/smallerrocket-spot-color-logo-copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"125\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-6566\" \/><\/a>In total, the College Swimming &#038; Diving Coaches Association of America selected 1,069 swimmers and divers for its Scholar All-America Team.<\/p>\n<p>The trio of Rockets also were honored for having achieved at least a\u00a0 &#8220;B&#8221; cut time at an NCAA regional meet.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m very proud of Izzy, Maureen and Alida for achieving greatness in the pool and classroom,&#8221; Head Coach Jonas Persson said. &#8220;They are leaders in and out of the pool, and are great role models for our team, especially for our incoming freshmen. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is what it&#8217;s all about as a student-athlete: having success academically and athletically. I&#8217;m thankful for our coaches\u2019 association for working so hard to promote the sport of collegiate swimming and diving.
