{"id":50651,"date":"2018-08-03T03:18:31","date_gmt":"2018-08-03T07:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=50651"},"modified":"2018-07-25T15:26:19","modified_gmt":"2018-07-25T19:26:19","slug":"five-rocket-tennis-players-named-scholar-athletes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/08_03_2018\/five-rocket-tennis-players-named-scholar-athletes","title":{"rendered":"Five Rocket tennis players named scholar-athletes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five Toledo men&#8217;s tennis players were named Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. <\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the men&#8217;s tennis program was named an All-Academic team by the association.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/?attachment_id=50653\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-50653\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/tennis-scholar-athletes.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"354\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-50653\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/tennis-scholar-athletes.jpeg 540w, https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/tennis-scholar-athletes-300x197.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a>Vincent Anzalone, Nikola Arsic, Reid Teatsorth, Luka Vitosevic and Danilo Vukotic earned the honor for Toledo and join a total of 4,328 scholar-athletes that span all five divisions of collegiate tennis.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The guys all did a great job academically this past year,&#8221; Head Coach Al Wermer said. &#8220;This is another honor for our program that shows how much effort our student-athletes put forth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Student-athletes awarded the Scholar-Athlete honor needed to meet the Intercollegiate Tennis Association\u2019s criteria, which included being a varsity letterwinner, having a grade-point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and being enrolled at their current school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).<\/p>\n<p>For programs to earn the All-Academic honor, the team needed a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Intercollegiate Tennis Association recognized five UT men&#8217;s tennis players as Scholar-Athletes, and the Rocket men&#8217;s tennis program was named an All-Academic team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":846,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[56,1],"tags":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/50651"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/846"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=50651"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/50651\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":50654,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/50651\/revisions\/50654"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=50651"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=50651"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=50651"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
