The University of Toledo Alternative Energy Incubator will host a forum on \u201cOhio Projects: The Ins and Outs of Doing Business\u201d Monday, April 19, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at 2600 Dorr St.<\/p>\n
The program will be led by the Ohio Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), headquartered at the Incubator, the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), and the Minority Contractors and Business Assistance Program.<\/p>\n
\u201cNavigating the process to do business with the state of Ohio can seem overwhelming, but it doesn\u2019t have to be,\u201d said Rob Puppos, director of PTAC. \u201cThis presentation will help show local business owners how they can utilize their knowledge, skills and experience to compete for business that will benefit the state as well as the local economy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Puppos said the forum is designed to answer questions business owners might have about working with the state and to provide information on business, certification and training opportunities the local private sector might be unaware of.<\/p>\n

\u2022 1:10 p.m. \u2014 An overview of ODOT\u2019s 2011 construction projects by Dave Dysard, district 2 ODOT deputy director;<\/p>\n
\u2022 2:10 p.m. \u2014 A look at the ODOT Rails Program;<\/p>\n
\u2022 2:45 p.m. \u2014 A discussion led by PTAC titled \u201cHelping Business Sell to the Government\u201d;<\/p>\n
\u2022 3:15 p.m. \u2014 A presentation by the Minority Contractors and Business Assistance Program offering assistance with business practices, planning and certification; and <\/p>\n
\u2022 3:45 p.m. \u2014 A question-and-answer session from a variety of business and state organizations.<\/p>\n
