This is in addition to the existing testing available through The University of Toledo Medical Center by calling 419.383.4545.

Healthcare professionals will administer rapid antigen and PCR tests at the University Health Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

For safety reasons to decrease the possible spread of the virus, individuals with symptoms of COVID-19 should enter the health center via door 2 in the front of the building. A clinic employee will escort them to a specially designated waiting area to get a rapid antigen test and see a provider.

No appointments are needed.

Results from the rapid antigen testing will be available within 15 minutes. Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 through the rapid antigen test will be administered a more sensitive PCR test to confirm the diagnosis. The PCR test will be analyzed by the UTMC lab, with results provided in 24 to 48 hours via a phone call.

In order to limit potential exposure to COVID-19, individuals who are seeking care for reasons unrelated to COVID-19 symptoms should enter the clinic via door 1 on the left side of the building under the blue awning. They will be seated in a separate waiting room and clinical space separated from the COVID testing area.

The University also is expanding the availability of Main Campus rapid antigen testing to individuals who have been exposed to COVID-19 to help students and employees comply with updated guidance on what to do if they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus.

In line with recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, individuals who are fully vaccinated — meaning two weeks have passed since they received the final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine — do not need to quarantine following an exposure but should get tested three to five days after their exposure.

Faculty, staff and students who are not fully vaccinated should quarantine for 10 days before returning to work, class or other on-campus activities and get tested for the virus eight days after their exposure at the recommendation of the Ohio Department of Health and the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department.

To request an antigen test following an exposure to COVID-19, students, faculty and staff can call or text 419.250.9750 and indicate they’ve been exposed to someone with the virus. They will then be able to schedule an appointment to get tested.

Symptomatic individuals and those who have been exposed to the virus also can request a PCR test through UTMC at the Comprehensive Care Center, 3333 Glendale Ave., by calling 419.383.4545. Appointments are available Monday through Friday. Those with symptoms of COVID-19 should not enter the clinic. Testing will be performed outside, usually while the individual stays in their car.

The University continues to encourage all faculty, staff and students who test positive for COVID-19 to report their diagnosis to the proper office. Faculty should contact the Provost Office at 419.530.8481, staff should notify Human Resources at 419.530.1497 and students should contact an on-call representative at the Division of Student Affairs at 419.343.9946. For UTMC employees, contact Infection Prevention and Control at 419.218.3744.

For more information on quarantine and isolation guidelines, testing, vaccination and other available resources, visit the University’s coronavirus website.

Students, faculty and staff experiencing COVID-19 symptoms now have access to on-demand testing through the University Health Center on Main Campus, in addition to existing testing available through UTMC.

[72,1,7,63
