<\/a>Peace activist, author and filmmaker Michael N. Nagler is the guest speaker for UToledo\u2019s annual Mahatma Gandhi Lecture for Peace and Non-Violence, scheduled for Sept. 29.<\/p><\/div>\n
Nagler is professor emeritus of Classics and Comparative Literature at\u00a0UC Berkeley<\/a>, where he founded the Peace and Conflict Studies Program and taught upper-division courses on nonviolence, meditation and a seminar on the meaning of life. Nagler also participated in the\u00a0Free Speech Movement.<\/p>\n He is president of the Metta Center for Nonviolence and author of\u00a0\u201cThe Search for a Nonviolent Future,\u201d\u00a0\u201cThe Nonviolence Handbook\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cThe Third Harmony: Nonviolence and the New Story of Human Nature.\u201d\u00a0Nagler is also the co-host of Nonviolence Radio and the Nonviolence Report.
