{"id":69794,"date":"2021-11-09T03:30:54","date_gmt":"2021-11-09T07:30:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/?p=69794"},"modified":"2021-11-10T09:17:33","modified_gmt":"2021-11-10T13:17:33","slug":"community-award-recognizes-utmc-mental-health-aid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/11_09_2021\/community-award-recognizes-utmc-mental-health-aid","title":{"rendered":"Community Award Recognizes UTMC Mental Health Aide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tabatha Johnson has spent the COVID-19 pandemic working as a mental health aide at The University of Toledo Medical Center\u2019s Senior Behavioral Health program and studying to become to be a registered nurse.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday her passion for caring for others and dedication to the healthcare field and was recognized with the CareGivers 360 award.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_69795\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Johnson1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-69795\" class=\"wp-image-69795\" src=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Johnson1-300x172.jpg\" alt=\"Tabatha Johnson stands in front of Jeep prize\" width=\"500\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Johnson1-300x172.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Johnson1.jpg 748w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-69795\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tabatha Johnson, a state-tested nursing assistant at UTMC, stands in front of the Jeep Grand Cherokee L she gets to use for the day as part of the prize package for being recognized with the CareGivers 360 award.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt feels really good knowing that someone else noticed how I\u2019m caring for my patients and making a difference in their daily lives,\u201d said Johnson, a state tested nursing assistant. \u201cI love being part of our program, seeing the process and getting someone back to their baseline and back to their life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnson\u2019s award, presented by Steve Reamey, clinical liaison at Advance Specialty Hospital in Toledo and the creator of the award program, caps off a six-month campaign to honor and give back to local caregivers who have been working through the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the use of a new Jeep Grand Cherokee L for the day, Johnson\u2019s prize package included a spa day, a downtown hotel stay, a dinner for two, jewelry and more \u2014 all donated by local businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson, who has worked at UTMC for four years, expects to complete her RN program in December. She hopes to land a job at UTMC, perhaps even remaining at the Kobacker Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to stay at UToledo for sure,\u201d she said. \u201cThis hospital is basically like a home to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnson is the second UTMC employee to be recognized by Caregivers 360.
