{"id":69833,"date":"2021-11-10T03:50:43","date_gmt":"2021-11-10T07:50:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/?p=69833"},"modified":"2021-11-09T17:07:01","modified_gmt":"2021-11-09T21:07:01","slug":"utoledo-career-services-receives-innovator-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/11_10_2021\/utoledo-career-services-receives-innovator-awards","title":{"rendered":"UToledo Career Services Receives Innovator Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Toledo received two Career Readiness Innovator Awards from SkillSurvey for innovation in measuring and promoting career readiness within the student employment program through Career Services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The University of Toledo knocked it out of the park with their marketing video discussing the importance of SkillSurvey for student evaluations among supervisors \u2014 UToledo consistently draws a high yield of student employee evaluations,&#8221; said Randy Bitting, head and co-founder of Career Readiness at SkillSurvey.\u00a0 \u201cThroughout the pilot and now, they model best practices for other colleges and universities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>SkillSurvey is an assessment UToledo Career Services uses to measure career readiness through on-campus student employment. The assessment measures the eight essential competencies the National Association of Colleges and Employer deem essential for students to be \u201ccareer-ready\u201d as they transition from college to career. These competencies include career and self-development, critical thinking, communication, equity and inclusion, leadership, professionalism, teamwork and technology.<\/p>\n<p>SkillSurvey Career Readiness provides career services, student employment and academic programs with individual Career Readiness Reports and first-of-its-kind data to discover insights into how \u201ccareer ready\u201d their institution\u2019s students are compared to students and entry-level job candidates nationally.<\/p>\n<p>The awards, administered by SkillSurvey, recognize top-performing institutions whose students received the highest evaluator ratings from more than 60,000 supervisors and 20,000 employers following an internship, co-op, on-campus student employment or other work-related experiences across 170-plus institutions.
