The Office of Multicultural Student Success is hosting a series of training workshops throughout spring semester for students, faculty and staff to increase awareness, unity and fellowship.<\/p>\n
Safe Place Training will introduce LGBTQ+ -related terminology to participants, provide them with information on common issues and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and share what it means to be an LGBTQ+ Ally as well as those resources available at UToledo and at the local, state, national and international levels.<\/p>\n
(Un)Documented Ally Training will help participants understand the unique challenges of the undocumented population through a focus on the institutional hurdles that may impact those around the community, such as children of (un)documented parents.<\/p>\n
The next Safe Place trainings are\u00a0Tuesday, March 15, from 2 to 5 p.m. and Thursday, April 14, from 3 to 6 p.m. in Thompson Student Union Room 2562.<\/p>\n
At the end of the training, these participants will sign a pledge to act as allies for the LGBTQA+ community and are given a \u201cSafe Place\u201d sticker to demonstrate that pledge.<\/p>\n
The next (Un)Documented Ally Training workshops are slated for\u00a0Friday, March 18, and Wednesday, April 6, from 4 to 5 p.m. in Thompson Student Union Room 2591.<\/p>\n
