{"id":73063,"date":"2022-04-25T03:40:40","date_gmt":"2022-04-25T07:40:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/?p=73063"},"modified":"2022-04-22T15:16:19","modified_gmt":"2022-04-22T19:16:19","slug":"title-ix-office-continuing-conversation-with-cup-of-prevention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/04_25_2022\/title-ix-office-continuing-conversation-with-cup-of-prevention","title":{"rendered":"Title IX Office Continuing Conversation With \u2018Cup of Prevention\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Title IX Office is again collaborating with campus partners to promote \u201cCup of Prevention,\u201d an initiative to promote awareness and education campus-wide on issues relating to sexual misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>The Title IX Office currently partners with Rocket Dining, the Office of Student Advocacy and Support, the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership and the Four Seasons Bistro on Health Science Campus.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Partnering with the University&#8217;s Title IX team for the annual \u2018Cup of Prevention\u2019 campaign has been an incredible source of pride for our team on Health Science Campus,\u201d said Josh Krupinski, director of Food and Nutrition Services. \u201cWe all know how one conversation can dramatically impact the life of someone else, and we&#8217;ve had the great opportunity to share this important message to so many of our students, peers and guests over the years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all deserve a professional, safe space to study, learn, grow and eat. Let&#8217;s continue to spread sexual misconduct prevention awareness together amongst our UToledo family and larger community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We want to continue to educate the entire UToledo community on what Title IX is, what sexual misconduct is and what resources are available to them on campus,\u201d said Vicky Kulicke, UToledo director of Title IX and Compliance and Title IX coordinator. \u201cWe want faculty, students and staff to be empowered to identify warning signs and learn strategies that build a community of respect. The partnerships for the annual &#8216;Cup of Prevention&#8217; campaign allows us to do just that, while sharing the information all across campus.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Through the \u201cCup of Prevention\u201d campaign, stickers \u2014 each with a QR code leading to a page with information about Title IX and education opportunities to reduce sexual misconduct \u2014 will be placed on 1,500 coffee sleeves and food packages during the month of April.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c \u2018Cup of Prevention\u2019 is just one of the multiple educational initiatives during the academic year to inform The University of Toledo community about sexual misconduct and the campus resources available,\u201d said Centraya Forbes, Title IX graduate assistant. \u201cThe campaign is also designed to continue the conversation on how to reduce incidents of sexual misconduct and to promote bystander intervention and consent culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>UToledo\u2019s Title IX Office ensures compliance with federal law.
