Gionfriddo was recognized for having three journal articles in Trac-Trends in Analytical Chemistry, in the top 1% of journals.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI am always impressed by the scholarly and creative contributions of our faculty members that have received national and international recognition,\u201d said Dr. Frank Calzonetti, vice president for research who recognized the faculty at the event along with President Gregory Postel and Provost Karen Bjorkman.<\/p>\n<p>University Libraries assisted a committee chaired by Eva English in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to identify publications in top journals or with high impact and the committee reviewed nominations and other material to identify faculty contributions such as manuscripts or creative works of great significance.<\/p>\n<p>The contributions include articles published in prestigious and widely read journals, papers by UToledo authors that have been highly cited by other researchers, highly acclaimed books written by UToledo faculty members, and creative works that have received widespread recognition and leading to a significant impact in their respective fields of expertise.<\/p>\n<p>The Creative and Scholarly Activity Award recipients are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Tomer Avidor-Reiss, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, for a high-quality, high-impact journal article in Nature Communication.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Mark Boswell, College of Medicine and Life Sciences, for being a top researcher with high-impact, highly cited journal articles.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Jeffrey Broxmeyer, College of Arts and Letters, for contributions in journal articles, essays and a peer-reviewed book publication.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Ritu Chakravarti, College of Medicine and Life Sciences, for numerous journal articles published in Journal of Biological Chemistry, Immunobiology, Physiological Genomics, Viruses and Proceedings of National Academy of Science.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Allyson Day, College of Arts and Letters, for publication of the manuscript, \u201cPolitical Economy of Stigma: HIV, Memoir, Medicine, and Crip Positionalities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Jon Elhai, College of Arts and Letters, for highly cited journal articles in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Trends in Cognitive Sciences and Computers and Education.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Matthew Foss, College of Arts and Letters, for the publication of the adaption of \u201cAll Quiet on the Western Front,\u201d awards and recognition for the collaborative project \u201c20k Leagues Under the Sea\u201d and numerous national awards for screenwriting.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Rafael Garcia-Mata, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, for an article featured on the cover of Cell Reports, a high-impact factor journal.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Collin Gilstrap, John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation, for an article published in the Review of Accounting Studies, one of the top five accounting journals.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Emanuela Gionfriddo, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, for three journal articles in Trac-Trends in Analytical Chemistry, in the top 1% of journals.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Kim Gratz, College of Arts and Letters, for highly cited journal article contributions. Dr. Gratz published 42 peer-reviewed articles from 2019 to 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Blair Grubb, College of Medicine and Life Sciences, for scholarly activity through journal article contributions. Dr. Grubb published 17 peer-reviewed articles from 2019 to 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. William Gunning, College of Medicine and Life Sciences, for article contributions in journals such as Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, Journal of American Heart Association, Molecular Microbiology and others.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Paul Hong, John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation, for the publication of the manuscript, \u201cRising Asia and American Hegemony: Case of Competitive Firms from Japan, Korea, China, and India.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Jennifer Joe, University Libraries, for the publication of editorial work on the manuscript, \u201cSocial Media for Communication and Instruction in Academic Libraries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Dae-Wook Kang, College of Engineering, for an article in the top 1% of journals (Cell), highly cited articles in Scientific Reports and Cell, and for being a top researcher by citation impact.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Kimberly Mack, College of Arts and Letters, for the scholarly monograph, \u201cFictional Blues: Narrative Self-Invention from Bessie Smith to Jack White,\u201d which received significant acclaim.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Deborah Orloff, College of Arts and Letters, for the photographic series, \u201cElusive Memory,\u201d and record of domestic and international art exhibitions. \u201cElusive Memory\u201d was selected for inclusion in more than 30 juried group exhibitions, plus eight solo or two-person exhibitions.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Jason Rose, College of Arts and Letters, for a highly cited article in Psychiatry Research and for being a top researcher by citation impact.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Hossein Sojoudi, College of Engineering, for journal articles \u2014 including six cover feature articles \u2014 in journals such as Advanced Materials, Materials Horizon, Advances in Colloid and Interface Science, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, and Science Advances, among many others.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Amit Tiwari, College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, for two highly cited journal articles in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutics.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 Dr. Matthew Tull, College of Arts and Letters, for a highly cited journal article in Psychiatry Research.
