{"id":7549,"date":"2010-08-27T17:48:32","date_gmt":"2010-08-27T22:48:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utnews.utoledo.edu\/?p=7549"},"modified":"2010-08-27T17:48:32","modified_gmt":"2010-08-27T22:48:32","slug":"ut-board-of-trustees-rejects-fact-finders-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/08_27_2010\/ut-board-of-trustees-rejects-fact-finders-report","title":{"rendered":"UT Board of Trustees rejects fact-finder&#8217;s report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fact-finder\u2019s report issued in regard to contract negotiations between The University of Toledo and one of its bargaining units, the American Federation of State, County and Federal Employees (AFSCME), has been rejected by the University\u2019s Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n<p>In a vote of 8-0, the board rejected the recommendations of the fact-finder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAFSCME members are valued and important colleagues who are essential to our mission of improving the human condition,\u201d said UT President Lloyd Jacobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had great hopes that this process would bring us one step closer to bringing these lengthy negotiations to a close,\u201d Jacobs said, following the board\u2019s action. \u201cUnfortunately, we are left with a report that lacks clarity and fails to provide a blueprint to reconcile our differences.
