Toledo (18-5, 8-2 MAC) took a\u00a0critical\u00a01-0 match lead by winning the doubles point, capturing\u00a0the No. 1 and No. 2 courts by 7-6 decisions.\u00a0Sornlaksup and\u00a0Krzysztof Wetoszka\u00a0won at the No. 1 court, while\u00a0Marko Galic\u00a0and\u00a0Adam Kovac\u00a0grabbed the victory at the No. 2 court.<\/p>\n
Western Michigan tied the match at 1-1 after winning the No. 3 singles match and then took the lead with the victory from the No. 4 court.\u00a0Matias Olivero\u00a0tied the match at 2-2 with his two-set victory at No. 5.\u00a0Luis Kleinschnitz\u00a0then put Toledo back in the lead 3-2 after winning the No. 6 court. WMU’s Anton Arzhankin tied the match on the No. 2 court to set up the thrilling finale between Sornlaksup and WMU’s Benjamin George on the lead court.<\/p>\n
Sornlaksup trailed 5-3 in his first set before rallying\u00a0to win 7-5. The second set went to a tie-breaker, and after\u00a0Sornlaksup won back-to-back points to clinch the match,\u00a0his teammates rushed the court and lifted him into the air in a joyous\u00a0celebration. Sornlaksup’s\u00a0clutch victory\u00a0extended his winning streak to 42-straight matches.<\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the match, Wetoszka and Sornalskup were named to the MAC All-Tournament Team, and Sornlaksup was named Tournament Most Valuable Player.<\/p>\n
