{"id":82648,"date":"2023-10-23T03:00:21","date_gmt":"2023-10-23T07:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/?p=82648"},"modified":"2023-10-20T11:29:19","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T15:29:19","slug":"reminder-employees-required-to-complete-compliance-training-by-oct-31-deadline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.utoledo.edu\/index.php\/10_23_2023\/reminder-employees-required-to-complete-compliance-training-by-oct-31-deadline","title":{"rendered":"REMINDER: Employees Required to Complete Compliance Training by Oct. 31"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All University of Toledo faculty and staff are reminded to complete their assigned annual compliance training courses by the deadline Tuesday, Oct. 31.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a valued member of our team, you are required to complete compliance training courses annually,\u201d said David Cutri, chief compliance officer. \u201cThis ensures UToledo fulfills its commitment to provide a supportive and inclusive workplace, which fosters professional growth and student success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The deadline to complete the following online training is Tuesday, Oct. 31:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022\u00a0 Managing Bias or Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging HSC <\/strong>\u2014 a diversity course to be completed annually by all faculty and staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022\u00a0 Building Supportive Communities: Clery Act and Title IX\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 the University\u2019s sexual misconduct training for all faculty and staff.<strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022\u00a0 The Ohio Ethics Law: Building a Culture of Integrity\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 to be completed annually by all faculty and staff. This training is developed by the Ohio Ethics Commission and embedded into the Vector learning management system to capture course completions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022\u00a0 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 to be completed annually by all Health Science Campus employees, individuals who work with patients and employees who work in clinical areas on Main Campus, and other departments as guided by UToledo policies and procedures. UTMC employees and others involved in patient care must also complete a Medicare fraud, waste and abuse training.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022\u00a0 Data Security and Privacy\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 a course to be completed annually by all faculty and staff.<\/p>\n<p>Employees can access their assigned\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/utoledo-oh.vectorlmsedu.com\/\">online trainings<\/a>\u00a0by logging in with their UTAD credentials or to myUT, clicking on the Employee (or Affiliate) tab at the top of the screen and scrolling down to the Training and Career Development section. Read instructions prior to starting the course.<\/p>\n<p>Allow about one hour to complete each course. Training may take more or less time depending on an individual\u2019s pace. While the courses function in all web browsers, it is recommended to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.<\/p>\n<p>Employees also will receive email reminders from the training provider, Vector Solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning in November, senior leaders will receive periodic status reporting of employees that are past due regarding the completion of these courses. Front-line leaders are also reminded that a status reporting tool is available for detailed monitoring.
