The University of Toledo will celebrate women\u2019s historical achievements and explore current women\u2019s issues with a series of in-person events and activities for students, faculty and staff throughout March.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited to remember and celebrate the contributions of women on campus and in the community during Women\u2019s History Month,\u201d said Danielle Lutman, associate director of the Catharine S. Eberly Center. \u201cWe have a great calendar lined up with events from student orgs, academic departments and community partners.\u201d<\/p>\n

Activities and events throughout the month will lead up to the sixth annual Womxn of Color Symposium, Serenity in Success on Friday, March 22. For more information visit the WOCS website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0 Thursday, March 7, 9:30 a.m.<\/strong> Circle Connect: International Women\u2019s Day with University Women\u2019s Commission at Carlson Library Starbucks. Join the Women\u2019s Mentoring Network and University Women’s Commission for coffee and connection to celebrate International Women’s Day.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0 Monday, March 11, 5:30 p.m.<\/strong> \u201cBreaking the Stigma: Mifepristone for Early Pregnancy Loss\u201d in Collier Building Room 1200. Join Lambda Kappa Sigma and Dr. Abigail Barazi, an emergency medicine pharmacy specialist at Mercy Health and a UToledo alumna, for a conversation about Mifepristone and breaking the stigma.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s theme, \u201cSerenity in Success,\u201d is all about recommitting to the practices, strategies and lifestyles choices that make you feel fulfilled, safe, healthy, thriving and, most importantly, like the best version of you from (wellness to finances). Dr. Gabriella Baki, director of the UToledo Cosmetic Science and Formulation Design Program and an associate professor of pharmacy practice, will be leading a workshop on writing conference abstracts. Each year, Baki and her students are present their research at multiple conferences. Come learn all her tips and tricks to getting your abstract submitted and accepted.<\/p>\n

We will have many yarn activities including crocheting, friendship bracelet making, tote bags and coloring sheets.<\/p>\n
