Holi, a significant Hindu festival celebrated as the festival of colors, love and spring, will be celebrated Friday, April 19, at Centennial Mall. It is an all-inclusive event from 3 to 5 p.m. that will feature dancing, colors and music.<\/p>\n

Originating in India, the celebration of Holi has since circulated worldwide. It symbolizes the arrival of spring, the end of winter and the blossoming of love. A classic Holi celebration involves people gathering \u00a0and throwing bright-colored powder and splashing each other with colored water.<\/p>\n

Holi Toledo is an annual festival and event put on by UToledo student organizations. This year’s event is Friday, April 19, at Centennial Mall.<\/p><\/div>\n

“Every splash of color this Holi symbolizes engagement with our true selves, excels in embracing diversity, and empowers one another with the vibrant hues of unity,” said Danisha Ray, president of the Indian Students Cultural Organization.<\/p>\n

Holi Toledo is sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs, the Center for International Studies and Programs, the Office of Multicultural Student Success, the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, the Indian Students Cultural Organization and the Office of Diversity Equity & Inclusion.<\/p>\n
