Snyder<\/p><\/div>The University of Toledo has something to be proud of this year as National Philanthropy Day approaches: UT Vice President for Institutional Advancement Vern Snyder is the Outstanding Professional Fundraiser for 2010. <\/p>\n

Snyder will be recognized by the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Wednesday, Nov. 10, at a luncheon at the Pinnacle in Maumee. <\/p>\n

\u201cUT plays a very active role with northwest Ohio chapter\u2019s Philanthropy Day,\u201d Snyder said. \u201cIt\u2019s a great privilege to be recognized by my peers and fellow fundraisers.\u201d<\/p>\n

National Philanthropy Day is a nationwide celebration to honor the tradition of inspired giving among communities, and it pays tribute to those who exemplify the best in philanthropy. Each year more than 100 Association of Fundraising Professionals chapters throughout the United States and Canada honor the philanthropic efforts of individuals, businesses and groups.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is truly a top honor in the philanthropy world to win an award like this,\u201d said Mary Galvin, principal gifts officer in the UT Institutional Advancement Office and co-chair of Northwest Ohio National Philanthropy Day. \u201cVern is very talented and deserving.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snyder is also part of an elite group in the country that carries the status of Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive. He is one of 90 in the nation to have reached that status. <\/p>\n

Throughout the course of the year, Snyder works on numerous fundraising projects, bringing in an average of $15 million a year for The University of Toledo. <\/p>\n
