Now in its 88th year, Songfest returns to Savage Arena as UToledo students dance and sing for a philanthropic cause: Mom\u2019s House, a local childcare center helping low-income, single moms graduate from high school, technical school and\/or college.<\/p>\n

With the theme of Battle of the Bands, the event kicks off at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 5, and will feature performances inspired by organizations\u2019 favorite bands throughout the years.<\/p>\n

\"Promotional\u201cBeing UT\u2019s second oldest tradition, Songfest has a history of being one of the best events of the spring and this year will be no different,\u201d said Adam Fredritz, a senior nursing student who serves as a co-emcee representing Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society. \u201cSongfest is such a unique event where fraternities, sororities and co-ed organizations come together to raise money for a local cause.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe welcome all our esteemed alumni, faculty and students to join us on April 5th in Savage Arena to see our hard work pay off.\u201d<\/p>\n

A staple of The University of Toledo since 1937, Songfest, co-hosted by Blue Key Honor Society and Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society, has perfectly blended school spirit, community service and student talent into one unforgettable night.<\/p>\n
