University of Toledo faculty will share foreign policy insights on topics ranging from economics to artificial intelligence in a free, public speaker series beginning Tuesday, Sept. 2.<\/p>\n

The Great Decisions foreign policy speaker series, sponsored by the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, consists of approximately 45-minute presentations followed by a Q&A.<\/p>\n

\"Promotional\u201cWe’ll be looking at some of the major issues facing the U.S.,\u201d said Dr. Joel Voss, the associate professor of political science who organized the series based on the Foreign Policy Association\u2019s long-standing discussion program of the same name. \u201cGreat Decisions brings in scholars from across the University to discuss and answer questions in a non-partisan, fact-based series of events.\u201d<\/p>\n

The speaker series will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Snyder Memorial Building Room 2040. The schedule is:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0 Tuesday, Sept. 2: Voss will present \u201cAmerican Foreign Policy at a Crossroads.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0 Tuesday, Sept. 9: Dr. Andrew Jorgensen, a professor emeritus of chemistry, will present \u201cInternational Cooperation on Climate Change.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0 Tuesday, Sept. 16: Dr. Jetsabe C\u00e1ceres, an associate professor of political science, will present \u201cU.S. Changing Leadership of the Word Economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0 Tuesday, Sept. 23: Voss will present \u201cAI and American National Security.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0 Tuesday, Sept. 30: Dr. Gaby Semaan, an associate professor and director of the Middle East Studies Program, will discuss \u201cAmerican Foreign Policy in the Middle East.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0 Tuesday, Oct. 7: Dr. Qun Wang, an assistant professor of political science, will present \u201cU.S.-China Relations.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0 Wednesday, Oct. 22: Dr. Barry Jackisch, an associate professor of history, will discuss \u201cThe Future of NATO and European Security.\u201d<\/p>\n
