UToledo\u2019s Wright Center for Photovoltaics Innovation and Commercialization (PVIC)<\/a>\u00a0pulled back the curtain on the University\u2019s world-class solar energy research facilities this week, hosting members of the Golden Alumni Society & University of Toledo Retirees for a special presentation and tour.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
Dr. Adam Phillips, research associate professor and\u00a0Wright Center for PVIC<\/a> lab manager, showcased one of the state-of-the-art labs in UToledo\u2019s Solar Center, housed in the UToledo Research and Technology Complex, where cutting-edge solar research takes place.<\/div>\n

Dr. Randall Ellingson, Distinguished University Professor and Wright Center PVIC Endowed Chair, gave an overview of the activities that set UToledo apart as a global leader in solar energy research. The PVIC focuses on advanced thin-film solar technology, as well as new materials like perovskites, and studies solar power for both Earth and space applications.<\/div>\n

The University uses large on-campus solar arrays for hands-on learning and energy production, making Toledo an international hub for solar research, education and industry development.<\/div>\n
